This time they stand against a brooding murky green and brown background with the feeling of a horrid storm in the air. THE ANGEL OF BLACKWICK It is generally well known that travel near, to or through Blackwick is not particularly wise as the town stands. The reports that came out of it after The Carnival of Moted Light (see page 32 of this edition for further discussion) passed through indicated a Angel was born that day, now it stands under it's watch and those who enter, don't tend to leave. Some say it was a home town hero once. A boy who loved their town so much their heart got too big and swallowed it when the town couldn't love him back. This angel is broadly referred to as "The Shrew", though others will call it "The Bell of Blackwick". For brevity I will be calling it Shrew. One eyewitness that has repeatedly offered startling evidence, claims she was there the day of the birth of Shrew. I believe she is telling the truth, though due to the nature of such events there's no telling how clear her perspective was of what occurred. Still, she is a primary source. She is our main witness currently as the people who she has said would have further information have either lost their minds or have proven to be too hard to track down.

this year my project is small & i managed to get myself to do speech bubbles in advance so today i'm just running through my "don't forget these details" checklist, and then if i'm very good i'm going to animate a few more panels and finish fleshing out the narrative framing.....................!

A purple crowd of faceless people moving in different directions. in the crowd is Hector and Heard in warm yellowish tones. They have facial features but their heads are mostly hidden behind other people. Heard is throwing himself forward to put a hand on Hector's shoulder, Hector is turning towards him.

went to the neighborhood grocery store and i guess they got a liquor license because a solid quarter of the store has been replaced with beer and wine 😵‍💫

i usually go to one closer to work anyway but …. it’s depressing lol

there are ten thousand factors that have made this year difficult for me, artistically, and one of them is that i’m not spending 8-12 hrs a day listening to podcasts… but i guess…the reason for that isn’t so bad. arguably it’s good, even?

reflecting on the fact that i feel the need to specify “alone in the lab” now because this year we hired two (2!) people to help (after years and years of my being the Only Person) AND i like them both (a lot)!!?
