last night i was half way up the stairs to go take a shower and the baby started crying and barking continuously (usually it’s one or two barks at a time) so i rushed back downstairs and found Warren pushed all the way against the wall opposite his puzzle ball toy that had come apart..

puppy woke me up at 430 to go outside in the cold rain and i thought, ‘there goes my one night this week i had any chance at all of getting >4.5hrs of sleep’ but it turns out that was a gift because i got to skip the 0630 potty break.. so ignoring that interruption i got almost a whole 7 hours!!!!!!

clover lays partially under our bed, head hidden and legs out straight beneath her like a child’s drawing of a dog. a short distance away a puppy sleeps in its crate, in the same position facing the same direction. both are old english sheepdogs (square, fluffy, white head and black/grey backs. clover has a puppy cut (fluffy but basically the same length as the puppy’s fur), making the resemblance even stronger) an important note: puppy is sleeping on a large flat ice pack wrapped in a pillow case. we have to put this dog on ice for it to get a good night’s sleep….???

clover delighted to be abducted by aliens at her visit to Roswell just a few days ago.

thank you! poor clover is not as enthused as we hoped she’d be, but she just got back from a 3 week long road trip and is suffering from slim-jim withdrawal (ciaran’s sister apparently shared Constantly), so i’m still optimistic her heart will open

yeah i’m Wiped Out 🫠 (you can tell- i’m responding quickly online for once because puppy is finally napping and i can’t even make myself move from where i’m laying to grab a book lol)

yeah, if ppl didn’t just assume OES shed a lot (takes too much energy to grow that much fur they’re Not Dropping It), they’d be much happier without the doodle (OES are already a healthy breed & poodles have HIGH prey drive, so all you’re doing by crossing them is making them more nervous/reactive)

if i was staying i’d have loved to meet up (i was honestly too focused on My Task to think of it or i may have tried anyway) but i had 3 days to get out there & back to pittsburgh (and on the drive home i had to stop every 1-2 hrs for the baby’s tiny bladder), so i really truly had no time at all 🥲

an old english sheepdog (like our older dog clover)! unfortunately they get over-groomed for shows (and consequently misrepresented a lot) but they’re extremely intelligent herding dogs with absolutely no prey drive (they herd from the front instead of by chasing, making them good guide dogs)!

this was the puppy we were hoping for (bravest of the litter, howls), but had thought was Not going to happen because i guess its got very good structure & the breeder was going to keep it to show? but one of its testes didn’t come down yet and that’s a disqualification!! good luck for us!
