Read the Gladiator 2 script before watching the movie, and it made the watching experience much more interesting.

I enjoyed noticing the differences between the script and the movie, things that were omitted, added, scenes and characters that played out differently.

I'll kick things off with:

Where are my non-linear screenwriting peeps? Time travel and jumps? Time loops? Alternate universes? Multiple, weaving storylines? I find people either 'get it' or they don't.

Is there a market for the solarpunk sf genre? It’s a genre that’s barely 15ish years old and focused on sustainability/green energy. It’s def utopian, but very anti-capitalist

As a SF writer, I think the biggest challenge (from a technical pov) is creating your own worlds and keeping to those worlds values/social norms. It’s my favorite part but it’s a lot more work than writing a story set in our world. I also hear (a lot) that SF scripts don’t sell/are too $$ to make.

Is to have less and less labor to pay. If they want to make 200 sequels of the terminator, I say let them. Audiences are gonna move else where and the big studios are digging their own grave.

I’m not arguing for them. They do not own our minds and voice. But if you SELL a script to a studio and the contract doesn’t say it can’t be used to train AI, they legally can and will. Hollywood like any business in capitalizm wants to maximize profits and the easiest way to do that…
