Old photos again, this time the second 30mm sub-machine gun model I painted. I wanted a more fearsome, aggressive look this time, so I went with Citadel Abaddon Black, Mephiston Red, and Leadbelcher, and experimented a bit with extra parts. My favourite model so far :) #modelpainting #30mm #gunpla

BTW Some parts of it were later touched up by adding Gundam marker.

I even made a base for it. Oryginalny I wanted something looking like obsidian wastes (you can see this version above in the photos), but later repainted it to be red and as if it was cooling lava

Got the results at 2 a.m. Sadly, no funding for my research this year. It’s been 3.5 years since my last postdoc and over a year since last publication. I think it’s finally time to say goodbye to academia and return (once again) to underpaid physical labor.

At least I have new gunpla to work on.

The problem with Sword & Shield is that, well, there is a potential you can feel but heavily stifled by innate inability to innovate from Pokemon franchise creators, combined with general low-effort approach spending 90% of allocated funds on marketing. Overpriced, heavily overpriced.

It is really hard to take a proper closeup photo of a such a small model, but here we go.

A bit of realism this time — Revell’s 1:76 M24 Chaffee, on its merry way to Paris 🙂 I had some proper American Khaki on hand, and it really comes to life when paired with bone white and some minor shading. Used more metal than needed to make the details clearly visible. #modelpainting #revell

About inspiration, well, I just wanted to have something similar to the original color scheme, just a bit more "maritime". Always had a problem with painting in brighter colours, so I also wanted to challange myself

As usual, something broke when I was painting. But sadly I could not properly mask it :( This kit was a bit too small for my large, sluggish hands...

This time: Crossbone Gundam X1—another great kit, even if a bit too small for me. Added metallic paints for details (Citadel and Vallejo) and changed white into a combination of Ice Blue (from Ionic Smart Colours, arms/legs) and Bright Sapphire (Warpaints fanatic, torso). #modelpainting #gunpla

Small question, if I may: do you make lore or worldbuilding for your Gunpla (or other) builds?

I’ve caught myself writing short info snippets for mine lately, usually within Gundam setting(s). I’ve also started a custom setting for my smaller 30MM kits.

Agree, I should have used white or silver (or very bright metallic). I usually go back to my previous work after a year to make changes, this is on the list ;) About the show, I am reading about it right now. The premise sounds, hmm, overdone?

About details, it was predominantly about changing dull grey in the cockpit, internal mechanics and weapons into proper metallic colour, plus add symmetrically coloured pauldrons (red, because of course it is). Paintng figures was a bit more complex, but the end result is also great :)

Finally managed to assemble and paint my Gilbow :) This time I went with only partial painting, adding color where I felt it would make the model look better (and to avoid some stickers). #modelpainting #gunpla

Just on a side, still looking for a job. Sadly, not much work is available in Poland for someone who worked in UK academia, and usually local know-how or certifications are way more important than any international experience or degrees.

I feel achievements in overall railroad user experience into predefined, often tedious paths. I have learnt to completely ignore achievements in modern games, while retro I did try but it ruined my nostalgia for several titles. So, for me, it is 0% attention given to achievements - I play as I want
