My feeling, based a lot on AW and DFRLab work, is that X hasn’t change the “ideology” of the algorithm per se, but weaponized it through the people paying for the blue tick, which skews things far right due to the nature of intense users.

Es interesante que esta operación de influencia, que parece que lleva bastante tiempo andando, es quizás solo un éxito por el pánico que ha provocado, no por la influencia que haya podido tener. Este artículo me parece muy interesante:

South Asia is in turmoil and that teaches a lesson when we see democracy eroding everywhere: people will always demand better politics, better government. It is not a question of “if” but of “when”

03.09.2025 19:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It is not surprise political ideas that align with democratic values and principles are the ones that the algorithm -that is fine tuned just to engage- finds boring and doesn’t amplify, censoring those voices.
03.09.2025 19:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Lets call a spade a spade:
Algorithmic amplification is the only censorship taking place in Europe. Because the algorithm is amplifying certain content (and we know how that works) it is also reducing the reach of other, which is effectively censorship.
