Ill read this b/c the title sounds cool… but remember the August Wilson adage, “We (writers) are owed nothing but the work.”

This book came out a year ago. Had a great tour, a glowing NYT review, and was on NPR. It didn’t blow up. Not a bestseller. Didn’t get optioned. Won nothing. Didn’t earn out. Now I have no contract and I’m struggling with the next one. Being a writer is an endless war of attrition. Time to write!
