That's how we got Golden Freeza, True Golden Freeza, and of course, Black Freeza, much later on.

Goku had a major impact on Freeza's life. One such impact is he awakened Freeza's fighting spirit. Having never been challenged, this was Goku imprinting the martial arts onto Freeza. Freeza remained a terrible person, a cheater, a liar, the worst kind of evil, but now one who was MOTIVATED.
