I really am starting to sound like Haber (on one topic), but I think there’s a difference between the Internet and extremely rare real estate.

I don’t know if this is even much of a reach beyond the spirit of Damn Arbor or Ann Arbor AF; everyone seems very willing to include others who have something to say, but it’s still someone else’s space you have to ask to share.

Not that Damn Arbor wouldn’t welcome them, but it seems a lot to ask (of him) to share it since it’s his now.

BCB’s already doing his part, but I think the “blog blog” idea is a bit bigger. Lots of authors with equal ownership. More people contributing and sharing with their own crowd.

I have hesitated to even bring it up, in part because @damnarbor.bsky.social &c exist and it feels rude to say, sure, thanks for informing us for years, but we are gonna do that same thing over here.

Better than some alternatives

Been planning to toss one more Nextdoor post into the gyre wherein I point out, based on this slide, that LGC should be championing the proposals, claiming victory, and asking for 2018 apologies if they really wanted a great commons and not just to obstruct.

I think that’s right. It’s literally fabricating. It always is, but when it fabricates untrue things, that’s what we call lying.
