Iโm surprised this isnโt brought up more with Tucker, but my biggest concern wouldnโt be that โhe doesnโt have elite bat speedโ per se. Itโs this: significant decline over the last 3 years in EV, sprint speed, defense, arm strength.
That coupled with the injuries is scary

The Tucker to the Giants stuff is weird, itโs hard to find a worse team-player fit. That ballpark would swallow him up and he is way way way too mellow for Tony V (he was even too mellow for the Cubs, and the Cubs are extremely mellow!)

For me Fubo is more expensive than it would be to keep YTTV + get ESPN Unlimited on top of that, so if this isnโt resolved by the time my YTTV runs out I might have to go for Hulu Live, even though I donโt want to because itโs a worse product

The Cubs more than any team in baseball are obsessed with flexibility. They do not want any dead money on their payroll ever, and theyโre willing to pay more now to ensure theyโre not paying a useless player in the future. Is that smart? Not really, but itโs how they operate

the worst part of the college sports writer schedule is seeing your friends go home for the holidays while you're working (and even if you're not working, you learn your bowl assignment too late to get a reasonable price on travel), but tbh...maybe this is to my advantage this year

My random MLB offseason prediction: Kyle Tucker signs somewhere totally random that nobody is expecting. Astros, Rangers, Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, a team of that ilk

Throughout the fall, Vanderbilt has been tracking its hittersโ progress with a focus on three pillars. This is a similar approach to what is used by many pro teams.
It will be interesting to see how this impacts the current roster with several players who excel in one pillar but struggle in another

How new Vanderbilt baseball assistant Jason Esposito will use analytics to improve hitting
Jason Esposito, Vanderbilt baseball's new hitting coach, brings a data-driven approach after previously working in MLB for the Cleveland Guardians.
Jason Esposito was once a player frustrated that he needed to improve but lacked the tools to know how.
Now as the #VandyBoys hitting coach, he's bringing an approach from the pros to try to improve an offense that's fallen behind: www.tennessean.com/story/sports...

Like yes, the team is bad but peak Trout on the bad Angels still got attention. But Troutโs last great season was in 2022 and his last generational-level season was in 2018. There have been many other stars emerge in that time who have become the face of baseball. Thatโs just how sports are
05.11.2025 17:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I remember having this conversation back in like 2017 and it made more sense then (even though the answer was always that he didnโt like the spotlight). By now, itโs simply the fact that Trout has played in 2.75 seasons worth of games in the last 6 years and isnโt an MVP level player anymore
05.11.2025 17:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
And when Ohtani was on the Angels, Trout was also not even the best or most generational player on his own team, and Ohtani always seemed more comfortable in the spotlight anyway
05.11.2025 17:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I mean heโs also only had one Troutian season in the last six. I definitely think he was more talked about in the 2010s, even with the Angels being what they were. But heโs not even one of the 20 best players in the sport anymore, hasnโt been for a while

Itโs almost like itโs a good thing to have an organization that treats your players well so that they want to stay

In my market the Fubo sports extra plan is more expensive than YTTV + ESPN unlimited because of the RSN fee AND it doesnโt even have Turner (and Iโm not an HBO Max subscriber). If this lasts until after my current month of YTTV lasts I might have to bite the bullet with Hulu even tho I donโt want to

04.11.2025 16:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I do not understand the powder foundation trend at all. Itโs so wasteful because you have to use SO much product and more ends up on the brush than your face. And then it just settles into pores and pills with a lot of blush/contour products. Why do people like this????
04.11.2025 16:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
I think there are good baseball/โjust wasnโt a fitโ reasons to part ways with Tucker. This is just being cheap for the sake of it (or being a lockout accelerationist, which is worse)

What we learned from Mikayla Blakes' 27 points in Vanderbilt women's basketball opening win

Mikayla Blakes is Mikayla Blakes even on an off shooting night, Vandyโs gamble on Aubrey Galvan seems to have paid off, two-big lineups worked to perfection and more we learned from the Vanderbilt womenโs basketball season opener: www.tennessean.com/story/sports...

And also the team in question had come back from being down 3-1 in the World Series, had to go on the road for games 6 and 7 too, there were even starters in relief! itโs not like any of this is uncharted territory

Someone tell people that there was a game 7 with a shocking, game-tying homer from a role player, extra innings, a pitcher escaping a jam in the clutch AND ALSO A RAIN DELAY, less than 10 years ago, and it also involved a team breaking a century-long drought instead of a superteam
