Hello! Yes, the credentials of the person writing the article are so incredibly important. Lots of false information is spread every day, mostly originating from non-credible sources. I always make sure to "background" check the authors for this reason! Apples and peanut butter sounds so delicious!

Finals is a stressful time for students- so it is so important for proper fuel and nutrition! I personally love to fuel my body with lots of protein (cottage cheese, chicken, ground beef, etc.), paired with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. This is so true! I feel like whatever we learn to eat as kids is what we enjoy as adults. The things we learn about food as kids turn into lifelong food palettes, and this easily influences our decisions. This is why it is so important to introduce healthy eating habits to kids when they are young!

This is a great reminder because I know that so many people tend to skip meals, or they feel guilty for fueling their body with food. The thing is, our bodies need food to function! Exactly! I really appreciate how Tom included his struggles, unfiltered and raw. He presented his true journey to weight loss; not just the results and good moments. Tom's story is both inspiring and eye opening. It made me realize how other's negative comments can severely hurt an individual.

One thing that struck me about Tom Carroll's story was the rude comment (about Tom's weight) made by a healthcare professional at his doctor's office in 2019. I didn't know this fact & it is extremely sad that some children may face obesity throughout their lives because of something that is completely out of their control. You're right- there's so many factors that contribute to obesity that is not realized by the general public. We need more education.

This is so true! It seems as though every few years a new body type is idealized and "perfect" in society's eyes. James Corden was right when he stated that fat shaming is simply just bullying, which leads to depression & self-destructive habits. In his video he also discussed a study that linked being obese to a hormone called leptin. Genetics can play a role, I didn't know this! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Hello! I just overcame this barrier myself. I found that meal prepping nutritious meals ahead of time is super helpful for when I am busy but in-need of a quick meal. If I don't have anything meal prepped, I often cook a quick, but nourishing meal with fruits and some type of protein. You got this!

I chose "Unhealthy diet of friends and family", because I feel like that is my biggest barrier to healthy eating. When I'm out with my friends on the weekends, we always seem to resort to eating fast food because it seems to be the most easy & appealing. Balance is key! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Healthy eating or lifestyles do not need a label. Proper nutrition intake is the only thing that matters. Many diets, especially fad diets, create communities these days. Agreed! Avocados are great. They're full of healthy fats and fiber. I like to pair them with my meals to keep me feeling full and satisfied. For this reason, avocados are great for weight management. However, like anything else, overconsumption could yield the opposite effects. Delicious!

Hello! This is a great idea because as the article stated, most pancakes are made with refined flour (empty calories). This makes them not ideal for a food you will be eating right in the morning. I looked into this diet after reading your post and realized that no food is consumed during this "cleanse"... how does this work?? Isn't this dangerous? I would assume that all of the weight lost during this diet would be immediately gained back after normal consumption of food begins again. Right?

Consuming a primarily whole foods diet is so important and underrated. I think that a lot of the time we don't realize how much processed food we eat (with many ingredients we cannot pronounce). And yes, tea and water are amazing for health. My two favorite drinks! Great plan!
