A barrier I face most often is the unhealthy diet of friends and family. Living in a household of people whose main goal isn’t to manage their intake is a struggle. It’s hard to turn down fast food when the majority wants it, it makes things hard! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I looked into what the Paleo diet was. I wonder how sustainable this diet is in modern times. The foods that it consists of are typically crazy expensive and it’s hard to come by foods that aren’t processed. Plus, isn’t dairy/grains included in the nutrition plate? @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I think a lot of people are across of the word “cholesterol,” but they shouldn’t be! As this read mentions, cholesterol builds cells, produces hormones, and helps in digestion. Not all cholesterol is bad, it’s all about lifestyle choices. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Hey Cindy! I’m with you, I used to eat fast food A LOT because it was quick and easy, and my love for McD’s fries is infinite. Making change is hard, opt for a slow approach! Or make your favorite fast foods from home, you’ll feel so much better about eating them if you made it!

I tried the 24-hour food recall challenge found that it’s a lot harder to track when your way of creating food is “handful of this” and “splash of that”. not very accurate but I was surprised to see how much i would reach for the same ingredients in different dishes @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is super interesting, especially after my Biology of Cancer class today where we spoke about mutations leading to cancer. I wonder if plant-based diets lower the risks because of its nutrients and how the immune system needs them to continue to fight infections. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Hi Micaya! I agree that clickbait is an easy telltale sign that something’s fishy about the article, especially one that promises to lose x lbs in x days. Making sure it’s posted by a credible nutrition source is also important too.

It’s important to see if the study is promoting specific products or diets for a secret profit later. Also, take a look at the results from the study, check if it’s truly randomized or if they grouped people to try a similar product to be a miracle drug @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
