Ooft. I know that feeling! After my first hip replacement, the day I made it down the end of the street was, well, such an achievement. Exhausting and emotional like you say. Round the block next!

09.10.2025 15:26 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I loved every episdoe of it! Right from the start, so, IMO it doesn't get better, it starts great and stays that way throughout, but thats the great thing about opinions, we are all entitled to them! (Within reason). G
09.10.2025 21:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Which is exactly why we here at Big Sort HQ like it! Garry is a massive Alien fan and loves to have anything set around that βworldβ and Paul loves overly complicated slow Sci-Fi series*

Neck join and drum of the Quarrymen banjo
An interesting instrument in its own rightβ¦ nicely restored/maintained. Iβve never seen a five string banjo with the fifth string fed through the neck from the headstock rather than on a side peg!

Ah yes, that famous vinyl retailer!
It's kind of insane how records are infiltrating so much again - becoming a hugely fashionable thing. Only a couple of years ago the Books Stall that visits our work was mainly that - books - now boxes of records are taking over.
Sadly not. I shall have to use my own!
08.10.2025 12:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Paul from Big Sort holding up vinyl copies McCartneyβs Press To Play and Ringoβs Rotogravure.
I suppose there comes a time in every Beatles fanβs life where they find themselves buying Press To Play and Rotogravure on record. My time is now! (P)
08.10.2025 12:39 β π 52 π 2 π¬ 6 π 1I should have answered, "Because MUSIC is brilliant and changes and enhances life in a million ways, also we're teaching people how to use the technology that affects you every time you watch a film, use your phone, put on the TV, switch on a radio... (and it's all taught in context as well)"
08.10.2025 08:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And reminds me of when I taught Music Technology in a college, one of the more senior lecturers from a different discipline could not understand WHY. She'd characterise it as 'playing guitars and that' and do a stupid air-strum gesture. I'm still mad about it now, years later!
08.10.2025 08:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Could happen!
07.10.2025 18:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not just yet! That'll be coming along in the new year... we've quite a few orders of business to attend to first!

Recording for the next block of episodes for the ongoing epic that is Series 4, The Big Sixties Sort Out, begins today!
We'll be back soon.
For three years in the mid-sixties, The Beatles had their own cartoon series - from the same team who went on to make Yellow Submarine - and now everyone pretends it doesn't exist. So I joined Paul and Garry on @bigbeatlessortout.bsky.social for a chat about it...

If you haven't caught up with our 'between proper bits' episodes, you've got a little time. We'll be back recording soon for the next phase of Season 4!
Hear what we got up to in Hamburg here. Hear here. Hear hear!
Don't be confused, pals. We've shortened our Bluesky handle to just @bigsort.bsky.social for ease of telling people about it.
02.10.2025 11:50 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For those who might not know, I'm part of a small community station called Noisebox Radio. We play music you know, music you might not and music you haven't heard for ages. If you've never tried it, tonight is an excellent time to start - not least of all because I'm on at 8pm. :) noiseboxradio.com
