The one relatively low-budget but meaningful change to congestion pricing is for NY to subsidize more overnight NJT bus trips to NYC.

I'm... sympathetic to physical labor-class NJ commuters whose shift in Manhattan ends at 1230a but the last bus home leaves at 1215a. They don't have options now.

I have a bad feeling about congestion pricing. I don’t think the claims that it’ll become popular after enacted will pan out. This isn’t London or Milan where we’re building cross-city regional rail tunnels with frequent service – people aren’t going to see improved transit, just higher costs.

Heading back to Amsterdam (close to hotel if stomach gets me), but today @michaelsfba.bsky.social and I have taken all rail based public transport in the Netherlands
