Game developer. I made The Ouroboros King (chess roguelike), currently working on Gods vs Horrors (roguelike card autobattler).

Not actually a bug, but I'll make some changes so this doesn't happen as it takes too long.

It also merges that with Twitch data if you manually download the data from sullygnome and put it in a folder. You'll still need to manually search for the emails of the creators.
27.11.2024 08:29 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hi, I made a tool to automate part of the data gathering required to find streamers for your games. You give it a list of similar games, and it gives you a csv of streamers who played them on YouTube plus some analytics.
27.11.2024 08:29 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1I'm making a deckbuilding game #hearthstone #mtg
19.11.2024 09:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0100% agree. I beat the base game with all characters a couple of years ago, but only recently started watching FrostPrime and climbing up ascension levels. One thing I dislike is that climbing is too slow, I'd either share levels for all characters or make just 5 levels (but same overall difficulty)
14.11.2024 10:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Slay the Spire. It was my first roguelike and it does so many things well. Also I've only made roguelikes so far
13.11.2024 19:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Asynchronous multiplayer (like in Super Auto Pets and Backpack Battles) is great for indie devs as it allows multiplayer games to be viable without requiring a huge player base.
11.11.2024 13:56 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Super Auto Pets is one of my favorite games in terms of development efficiency, it does a lot with so little. For example, originally the pets were just emoji with outlines, and the combat animations are a combination of rotations and translations; but it's still satisfying to play.

I hope this information is useful to you. If you want more details, I also wrote a full blog post about the topic.

6. Find their emails. I first look at their Twitch description, Twitter profile, and personal website; before moving to YouTube's about section (which has daily limits)
29.10.2024 10:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 05. Select the best streamers. The two main selection criteria are streamer popularity (high average views) and fit with your game (number of games in your list played and number of hours played)
29.10.2024 10:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 04. Build a database with the Twitch and YT data, that for each creator includes the average viewership, hours streamed and which games from your list they played
29.10.2024 10:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 03. Search for YouTubers who played those games either by using manual search (tedious) or using the YouTube API. Searching for creators on YouTube is harder than Twitch, but well worth it since in my experience YT offers more visibility
29.10.2024 10:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 02. Download streamer data for those games on Sullygnome or Streamcharts
29.10.2024 10:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 01. Make a list of similar games. They should be at least moderately successful (otherwise streamers won't have played them) and released recently (otherwise the streamers who played them may have moved on to other genres)
29.10.2024 10:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0My first game (The Ouroboros King) had more than 4.5M views on YouTube, leading to > 25k lifetime sales. Streamers were by far what helped me the most in getting players to know about my game and I want to share my method for finding content creators suitable to any game.
29.10.2024 10:41 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Instead of on Twitter - let's try this here & see if it works by now.
If you're developing a game, or released one: reply with the title, description, screenshots, and/or a link. Doesn't matter what stage of development you're in. Then repost this, and let's see what cool stuff we're all making.
I'm developing Gods vs Horrors, Gods vs Horrors is a roguelike card auto-battler where you coordinate Gods to defend the Earth against Cosmic Horrors.

I have an idea for a joke about game development, but I can't tell it because I'm too afraid of people stealing it
