I think this movie played better back in the day and nostalgia plays a role in modern people loving it

I like this movie, the problem is you can’t make a movie about the Warren’s and actual ghosts without saying they were rights it’s like: so what? The Salem witch trials were good?

Yup, I assume that producers think “people won’t go to the theatre unless it’s long” so producers fight for power, and the director/ writers fight back. I feel like that leaves editors caught in the middle, scared to say “cut 15 minutes”

Totally! I really enjoyed it, I just feel like you could cut like 10 minutes, not even that much!

Absolutely fantastic movie. But too long.

I agree. It’s sort of like Disney in the earls aughts, they couldn’t think of a new idea so they pivoted to being extremely litigious with 50 year old characters rather than make new ones.

I know, it’s ridiculous. If you company can’t exist without nostalgia to the 80s and suing games barely similar to yours maybe your company just sucks

#nintendo and it’s new patents are terrible. They will destroy countless creative endeavours. They don’t know what to do with their own IP they should not be destroying the dreams of young creatives.
