25.08.2025 03:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There was a time when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s (yeah I knowβ¦ π) when we could only watch them on a few channels that would run them, and usually Sandy Frank edits. But then video rentals opened so much more up, all the Godzillas, etc. MST3K really brought them back too, fortunately for us

I broke my collarbone one time and couldnβt get off the couch for days. I watched those movies back to back and 3rd grade me loved them and have ever since

TR15, Lunoid 4, April 2025, oil on canvas, 36x18in. A shiny blue humanoid robot with orange accents wearing a stylized french maid costume crawls on hexagonal flowered tiles, scrubbing the floor. Its head is tipped upside down and its tongue is sticking out.
2W31, Lunoid 3, March 2025, oil on canvas, 24x36in. A blue police robot in androgynous human form stomps aggressively to the right, arms flexed in fists. It wears a gold utility belt and there is a red line in a gold stripe where eyes would be. their background is an abstract, high contrast pattern resembling police lights and wet night street.

Time is running out for the Lunoids Kickstarter to reach its all or nothing goal. Back for images, updates, a wall calendar, prints, or even an original painting of my monthly color-mapped hard-working humanoid bots. #artsky #RobotArt kickstarter.com/projects/limnrix/lunoids
A fan of your books, but also from mefi, and an awesome conversation with a bunch of mefites in SF several years ago we had.

Above: A photo of the Star Trek: The Next Generation bridge crew plus Guinan (season 3 or later, by the clues I see), on the bridge of the Enterprise-D. Superimposed text: "STAR TREK REFLECTS WHAT WE DREAM OF BEING" Below: A photo of Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, in front of seven red-robed Imperial Guards, in front of a mass of white-armored Storm- and Scout Troopers, in probably a hangar bay of the Death Star (circa Episode VII: Return of the Jedi). 10.03.2025 14:30 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0While I am absolutely a fan of Isaac Asimov, his prediction about BosNYWash by 2014 did not come true, and New York with its iconic buildings shown here, is still a separate city from Boston. Other references that may have made you think they are the same are still fictional works.

The Amber Chronicles by Zelazny feels very under appreciated, and I was surprised that so few people recognize it (and him) as important to the genre. Same with disrespect for Eddings in fantasy.
