Samalla muuttaminen vähenee, ja kotitaloudet asuvat useammin elämäntilanteeseensa huonosti sopivissa asunnoissa.

Vieraskielisten toimeentulotuen saajien määrä on kasvanut hyvin vähän 2017-2024, oikeastaan vain ukrainankielisten verran. Samaan aikaan vieraskielinen väestö on kasvanut. Vieraskielisten osuus toimeentulotuen saajista on kasvanut, koska kotimaisia kieliä puhuvien tuen saajien määrä on pienentynyt.

Thanks. I was wondering how similar the analysis is to a soon-to-be-published comparison of socioeconomic segregation in selected European capital regions. But you have an impressive number of cities (and countries), whereas that comparison focuses on _change_ in fewer regions. Stay tuned for that!

Kuvio: Muuttaneiden osuus 10 kuukauden seuranta-aikana kotitalouksilla, jotka olivat saaneet toimeentulotukea huhti–heinäkuussa 2024. Kuvasta näkee, että muuttamaan ohjatuista kotitalouksista vajaat 15 % muutti seurantajakson aikana.
Toimeentulotuesta korvattavien asumismenojen lainsäädäntö muuttui 1.4.2024, minkä seurauksena Kela ohjasi kotitalouksia etsimään edullisempaa asuntoa.
Kuudesosa muuttamaan ohjatuista muutti, ja asuntoonsa jääneiden taloudellinen tilanne tiukentui.

Academic studies consistently show that access to citizenship has positive effects. Immigrants who become citizens experience lower unemployment, earn higher income, less likely to be overqualified for jobs & experience stronger sense of belonging

Nice article on population projections, making the point that one problem with population panics is that it’s incredibly difficult to predict population trends. Implementing drastic policy solutions on the basis of long-term population projections is therefore not a good idea
