Very worried about the 'no kings' protests scheduled for Oct 18. Not worried for my personal safety - I will still attend - but for those already vulnerable. Minimally, Trump's threats will depress participation.

Definitely agree about in-person encounters. Some of the scimitar-horned oryx on our south Texas ranch. They find us almost as fascinating as we find them (though in their case it's probably because they're prey animals).

I am tempted by dental irrealism. It would be a lot cheaper and a lot less painful. (I have a dentist's appt today so this is particularly salient.)

This will destroy higher ed. Maybe tech can afford it. I’m a former H1b holder too.
