Even though Veri uses the concept of Oversouling, she almost resented it realizing its true nature. That resent turned into an obsessive need to replace the life that was used-- and in turn, sacrificing her own health and sanity to 'repay' her body's cost. This led her down a dangerous path...

AU Verisca broke after the Skydeep Cenote and all the time spent in S9 and the concept of the Regulators, she became enraged at the carelessness of life and Garlemald's remnants became the resting ground for her last bit of restraint and clarity...

There is also just something - REALLY FUN - about someone with the absolute best of intentions, completely falling prey to the void of obsession and doing good in ALL the wrong ways--
