Cross stitch, hand knitting, machine knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning... We'll see which hobby I pick up next. She/her.

03.12.2025 22:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've been working my way through "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die." Today's album was John Prine, a country record from 1971.
My favorite song was "Your Flag Decal Wonβt Get You Into Heaven Anymore." Still relevant, 55 years later.
I'm sharing a link rather than just a screenshot, because you need to see the little video/gif of this "scratch the belly nail file."

I'm doubtful they'll do anything. People have been complaining about drop shippers on the site for years, and they don't care.
At the moment I'd be happy with an option to hide certain sellers, so they stop showing up in my results.
I really, really wish that Etsy cared about AI, and allowed users to report/hide it.
12.11.2025 16:15 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A very small cross stitch of a cute little ghost, who is eating candy corn. Several more candy corn are on the floor. The piece is in a black frame, being held by a hand that is mostly out of frame.
I'm going to visit my stitching bestie tomorrow, so I had to finally iron and frame this hungry little ghost I made for her (free pattern from @lolacrow.bsky.social ).

Cross stitch showing the head of a polar bear on a dark background. The bear looks concerned. A banana is provided for scale.
Moving the q-snap on my bear.
I'm thinking I might try Royal rows for my next pass π€

Yes- exactly! It's just odd, colorful shapes until I step back and really look at the whole thing. And sometimes it's not until I take a picture that I really see it as a whole!
27.10.2025 21:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Partially finished cross stitch. In the lower left is a sheep, and in the middle is the beginning of a second sheep's head.
One of the fun things about cross stitch is that I'll be working away, focused on the stitches I'm currently working on, when suddenly I step back and realize, "oh! That weird little ovary shape I just did is a sheep's head!"

A partially finished cross stitch depicting a travel poster for Ireland's Cliffs of Moher.
Moving the q-snap one last time!

Like I said, my view is warped. Masochism will do that to a person π
If you're in the US, 123Stitch.com sells it, in both cream and white, 14ct and 16ct. I appreciate it, because I apparently have a hard time counting to 10 consistently.
Thank you! It's just under 18k stitches, so medium-ish? (My other wip is 86k, so my view may be warped).
The fabric came pre-gridded, which is my favorite thing! It's Zweigart, and the grid lines wash out.
Partially finished cross stitch showing a sheep standing on a grassy hill, with water behind.
I'm 75% done with this Cliffs of Moher travel poster, and glad to finally be stitching sheep instead of sky or water.

In today's episode of "I'm flight af so I can't concentrate on one project for now than 5 seconds at a time":
I walked past my spinning wheel and said (John Mulaney voice) "Okay!"
Fiber is from Knit Picks, the wheel is a Majacraft Suzie Pro.

It's a game changer for cross stitchers who use digital patterns!

27.09.2025 17:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It exists! (I've thought about doing this one, because it's funny, but I craft to relax, and nothing about any of this relaxes me.)

A quilt top made out of long strips of fabric. Its colors are grey and yellow, with some of the fabrics having bees on them.
This morning's project was making this jelly roll race quilt. It was a small roll (only 20 strips) so now it's off to my mom (and her fabric stash) for enbiggening and then quilting.

A cross stitch piece in progress. It's mostly blobs of blue and green along the top and left side of the square. There is also a cute cartoon llama needle minder in the middle.
I have reached the bottom of the pattern. Now all I need to stitch is the rest of the column and everything to the right of it. Easy peasy.

FYI, 123stitch.com is where I get all my cross stitch supplies (I have no local store since Joann's closed). Decent prices, quick shipping, something like a $5 flat shipping fee.
They have a good price on the Cone of Doom (big ol cone of DMC 310), too!
I've been using iHerb for years to get my (non-autism curing π) supplements. I just cancelled my subscription.
Once again: this is why we can't have nice things.
That's even cooler!
I actually just graduated my homeschooler, but our state didn't have anything like that. I pieced it together myself, which meant I've looked at A LOT of programs. So even though I'm no longer homeschooling, I still find it interesting to hear what's out there.
That's so cool! Do you mind sharing what program you're using? I'm a little out of the homeschool game, but I love hearing that something like this exists!
22.09.2025 16:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There will just be more of it to love! (20ct black fabric just sounds like insanity to me.)
