Praying for those in SoCal

Overall, it was a fantastic film. The music left a bit to be desired, and the plot holes could have been a bit less apparent, but it was a wonderful movie and entirely worth the money to see it. I will happily re-watch it once it hits Disney+.

8.5/10

Visuals:
To say the least, absolutely stunning. As with the other live-action Lion King, the CGI was fantastic and life-like, and the setting was gorgeous. It was all sweeping and beautiful, and the lighting was phenomenal. The vfx team knocked it out of the park. 11/10

Script/performance:
Quite good. Lines for the most part felt genuine, and it felt real enough, with just the right amount of comic relief from Timon and Pumbaa/Zazu. There were some over-delivered/over-monologued lines, but it was still quite nice. 9/10

Plot:
Fantastic. The way it was told to Kiara by Rafiki worked well, and the story itself was nice. It was a nice backstory of how the pridelands came to be, how Scar came to hate Mufasa, and how Mufasa became king. However, there were a few plot holes (no spoilers here). 8.5/10

Music:
Not good. I cannot believe it's @linmanuel.bsky.social's work. The original songs were catchy enough, but not fitting for a Lion King movie. They sounded more like an indie movie, not an 11 billion dollar franchise. The only good songs were the ones reused from the original. 2/10

I am at the FUCK MONSTERS INC. stage of grief.

I know the Muppets are loved by all, but I worry this could be a Stitch’s Great Escape moment where the new ride won’t be “serious” and “cool” enough for teens and adults, but is still far too scary for kids.

Kermit and Piggy on a triple-inverting launch coaster… Never thought I’d see the day.

I am DEVASTATED about the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D, but beyond excited for Rock N Roller Coaster starring the Electric Mayhem. But still… I wish Muppet*Vision could find a new venue so it can live on.
