Ludicrous. If true, no judge who presided over a defendant's conviction or imposed the sentence should sit on any subsequent habeas petitions, which is bog standard practice. It shouldn't be, but either apply the rule consistently or get rid of it.

7 HOURS of interrogation? Jurors need to know how unreliable so-called “confessions” are, especially after lengthy police interrogations, which cops deceptively call “questioning” & which are designed to get suspects to say what the cops want them to say, not the truth.
