Unpopular opinion: I’ve signed a few of these open letters, but frankly, that is not enough.

Faculty need to organize AND unionize. I began my #ProfessorLife in a union shop (Wayne State) & I’m now in AAUP-AFT’s at large chapter.

Best time to unionize was yesterday. Second best is today.

My heart goes out to Mahmoud Khalil and his wife who is 8 months pregnant. She does not need this kind of stress during her pregnancy. ICE will come after more and more people Green holders, citizens, anybody who goes against them. This is fascism folks. How does this combat antisemitism exactly?

As Republicans attack Black history, I paid a visit to my alma mater and discovered there’s a lot I don’t know about the history of Black people on my own college campus. All the more reason why we must teach that history, not just in Black History Month but every month of the year.

Columbia has cracked down harder on 'antisemitism' (which both they and the current administration define broadly to include antizionism) than any other university in America. This is the clearest proof we have that doing the presidents' bidding *will not* spare your institution.

The Housing Loophole That Lets Wealthy Investors Raise Rents on Poor Tenants As the U.S. struggles with a housing shortage, investors continue to exploit a gap in an affordable housing law to raise rents on 115,000 apartments. Congress has repeatedly failed to act.

NEW: The loophole allows buyers of tax-subsidized low-income housing to raise rents on new and existing tenants far sooner than the law typically requires.

Some 115,000 apartments in the U.S. have lost rent restrictions as a result, per one estimate.
