I agree. These sorts of bags are horrible for air travel and better suited to driving trips, yet see them all over airports.

I had a couple other gripes about the M5 CS. It didn’t have adaptive cruise control, and wireless CarPlay was way more sensitive to dropping out from interference than any other car I’ve driven. It also needed to be a wagon.

Guess that’s why this was such a hit with me as a follow up.

I did a 1000-mile loop of Texas in just under 24 hours in the M5 CS, and the ball-basher feature wasn’t the issue. It was the side bolsters that squeezed my legs together in a way that made my hips hurt.

Also: Frozen Deep Green Metallic still fucks.

For sure. I'm about to rotate them for the second time, and the wear is consistent, but I can tell they won't last a lot longer. Fortunately, since I only have the 17s, the cost is easier to handle.

Good to know. I have about 10,000 miles on my 2025 Maverick XLT Hybrid, and I absolutely loathe the stock Conti Pro Contact on it right now. Especially in the wet.

Tempted to get the Michelin PS4 SUV, since they're available in that size. No worries about winter tires in Texas.

Really feeling the urge to run off to a small town along the Northern California coast for the rest of my life.

Just have to figure out how to afford that.

I get that. If you’ve got the time, a run along 20 and back to Oregon up the 101 instead is pretty rewarding.

Which way are you heading tomorrow? I suggest going a bit west. Especially taking 20 toward the 101.

We Gen X know this is absolute bullshit. It's ok to never have a career. You can just do things you're interested in for as long as you are interested in them, and then do something else. Your job doesn't define you, and if it does, you're very likely doing life wrong.

I peeled off the OEM sheet on the Maverick’s (much bigger for 2025) infotainment screen, and had my PPF guy put a piece of XPEL satin film over it. No fingerprints, and it got rid of the glare.
