I’ve spent the last two and a half years talking to conservatives about the death penalty. Increasingly, part of those conversations has been to dig deeper into what public safety actually means. This thread exemplifies why.

Thinking about this thread I read earlier in the day, after on my drive home I saw that a portion of I-11 NB between Boulder City and Henderson/Vegas was completely shut to traffic. Apparently a fatal accident earlier. The presumption that driving entails safety and freedom is…weird.
