Firefighters battle raging wildfires in Spain Spanish forest rangers were deployed into areas around the town of El Arenal, around 62 miles west of Madrid, on Tuesday (July 29) night as wildfires raged in central Spain. In the Caceres region on Wednesday (July 30), about 150 members of the Spanish Military Emergency Unit (UME) battled a wildfire, video released by the unit showed.

The team is out with WCK’s large-scale food truck and bringing on local restaurant partners to support communities in immediate need.

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Spain, where wildfires in the Cáceres region have caused destruction and forced families out of their homes. Thousands of first responders have been working to contain the blazes, many of which have been spreading since last weekend.
