My Facebook post Get along to YouGov and make sure their eugenics questions don't top the poll. They are actually asking if disabled people should be sterilised to stop them passing on their disabilities. So, my dad wouldn't have been allowed kids because we carry a genetic heart condition. My grandmother had epilepsy and we suspected Asperger's Syndrome. No kids there with eugenics. I won't have been allowed to provide this country with a Geneticist. He in turn would be prevented from starting a family. "Oh but they mean profound disabilities" Do they? How certain are you of that? There's a reason 1930s/40s Germany had a eugenics programme.

Who paid you to get a feeling for the population's appetite for #Eugenics?

I was pregnant and my partner and I were looking for a place to rent. We found an ad in the local paper saying there would be an "open house" for flats in a large house in the centre of town. We went along. It was in the evening which felt odd. When we arrived a man in a dark suit answered the door and instructed us to go into a room "with the others". In the room was a man, seated on a dining chair, he was also in a suit one leg crossed over the other, arms loosely folded on his lap. There were a couple of other men in suits standing around. It felt very "Mob" like. All of the other prospective tenants were young men. I was the only woman. The vibe was very off. I couldn't put my finger on it. Once the men in suits were sure there were no others coming the man on the seat spoke. He talked about his properties and how he had strict criteria. My partner and I met the criteria, we both worked, we weren't teenagers, we didn't receive any state help, we had excellent references from our previous landlord. The man asked anyone who didn't meet criteria to leave. A few people left. Once gone he then went round the room pointing at people and saying "stay" or "go". He pointed at us "go". I was slightly relieved. As much as we needed a new home I didn't like the Mob vibe. As we started to go I heard the man start to address the room. He was congratulating those left on being "suitable tenants" for his property. I looked back and realised that the room was filled with young attractive men, the eldest was maybe 23 and the look on the face of the man in the chair felt wrong. It was later that I realised the man in the chair was Peter Mandelson, the town's MP.

I've sat on something for over 30 yrs because although it didn't feel right at the time there was nothing to say it didn't mask something else... until #Epstein

From Unison to members The government has announced a 3.6% pay increase for NHS staff in England. There have been no negotiations with unions and this is not an offer for members to accept or reject. This is an imposed pay award. What do we know? We do not yet know all the detail. We are working urgently to get clarity on exactly what this means, including when the pay rise and associated backpay will be in your pay packet. We think this is likely to be August, backdated to April 2025. However, it looks like the government has stuck to its position that staff who received an interim pay rise in April 2025 – those in Band 2 and on the entry point of Band 3 – will not receive the full 3.6%. Instead, they will receive a smaller payment to bring the combined total of both pay awards to 3.6% This is unjust. That April payment was not an agreement with those staff – it was something the government had to do to avoid breaking minimum wage law. You may also hear in the news today that many doctors have been awarded 4% plus £750, after their previous 2-year 22% settlement. We know this may feel unfair when the NHS can only succeed by working together as one team.

Here in Devon the @libdems.org.uk came storming through to win 27 seats (a gain of 18 seats) falling just 4 seats short of a majority. Moving #DevonCountyCouncil from Tory to #NOC.

If the #LibDems form a coalition with @greenparty.org.uk who have 6 seats there will be a LibDem-Green working maj.

I've never directly dealt with L&Q but have complained about a tenant family of there's who were completely out of control. L&Q lied to me saying "those houses don't belong to us" despite Land Registry showing they did.
