The mystery is resolved! Someone at work accidentally delivered a personal order to mine as the last order they did was a work thing for me.

The mystery is resolved! My boss at work forgot to switch Amazon back after an order for work to mine and accidentally sent me a personal order.

It is the mystery of the month! I'll update you with anything I learn...

14.07.2025 19:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yup! I can't figure out who would have arranged this. It would require both, knowledge of me and also somehow no knowledge of my personal preferences.

14.07.2025 18:45 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yup! My full name and address, and the set of people who know my new address are limited (mostly because I keep forgetting I haven't told people/ switched info over).

14.07.2025 18:37 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Unclear. I'm not sure I'd want to venture this far into the alleys of titty town without knowledge of who has sent me on my way???

14.07.2025 18:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Very odd!

Someone has randomly sent me a bunch of synthetic mesh sleeveless vests via Amazon. This is... very baffling. I haven't so much as hinted at wanting these, so who did this? And... why???

I have nothing profound to say. War is always a calamity.

65 Percent of People Taken by ICE Had No Convictions, 93 Percent No Violent Convictions ICEโ€™s deportation agenda is not what is being advertised to the American public. ICE is not interested in prioritizing public safety, yet it constantly pretends that anyone who objects to its tactics ...

Oh, look, they lied again. This is my surprised face. www.cato.org/blog/65-peop...

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, donโ€™t let social or mainstream media gaslight you into thinking thereโ€™s a violent uprising taking place here. The Trump administration is trying to punish this state and this city. Heโ€™s also setting a precedent to unleash troops on Democratic cities.

A page from Let This Radicalize You by Mariame Kaba and Kelly Hayes, the chapter called "Violence" in Social Movements, page 111. Under the heading "They Will Call You Violent" the text reads:

If your tactics disrupt the order of things under capitalism, you may well be accused of violence, because violence is an elastic term often deployed to vilify people who threaten the status quo. Conditions that the state characterizes as "peaceful" are, in reality, quite violent. Even as people experience the violence of poverty the torture of imprisonment, the brutality of policing, the denial of health care, and many other violent functions of this system, we are told we are experiencing peace, as long as everyone is cooperating. When state actors refer to "peace," they are really talking about order. And when they refer to peaceful protest, they are talking about cooperative protest that obediently stays within the lines drawn by the state. The more uncooperative you are, the more you will be accused of aggression and violence. It is therefore imperative that the state not be the arbiter of what violence means among people seeking justice.

Be careful, friends, when you read accounts of what is happening in LA. We will hear a lot about violence, and it is essential to remember who is defining that term.

Peril and persistence define the path of Africaโ€™s conservationists On the evening of May 9, 2019, conservationist and teacher Itakwu Innocent narrowly survived an assassination attempt outside his home in Kubong-Bette, a small farming village in the southeasternโ€ฆ

Local conservationists across Africa face threats, isolation and underfunding, as illustrated by Nigerian conservationist Itakwu Innocent, who survived an assassination attempt and has endured years of violence and ostracism for protecting wildlife and opposing poaching in his community.

Also point this out to anyone you can. These were not planned protests. These were normies getting the supplies for their weekend projects or at a restaurant and saw their servers getting hauled off and were like this is some bullshit.

2 New York Representatives Are Denied Access to ICE Facility Representatives Adriano Espaillat and Nydia Velรกzquez were turned away when seeking to inspect a migrant detention area inside a Manhattan federal building.

Federal officials prevented two members of Congress on Sunday from entering an immigration detention facility in Manhattan where the representatives were seeking to investigate reports of overcrowding, stifling heat and migrants sleeping on bathroom floors.

Pudding is still limping but, despite us putting the large pillows down everywhere, refuses to stay downstairs if I'm upstairs in my room. He's always been a very social cat and hates being left alone, though I suspect him constantly making the trip up the stairs is because he also wants sympathy.

Photographer Fatima Hassona killed ahead of Cannes documentary debut The Palestinian photojournalist Fatima Hassona, killed along with ten family members in an Israeli air strike on her home in northern Gaza, is the star of a documentary due to be screened at the Cannes film festival next month.

"In an earlier post, she wrote: "As for the inevitable death, if I die, I want a loud death, I don't want me in a breaking news story, nor in a number with a group, I want a death that is heard by the world, a trace that lasts forever, and immortal images that neither time nor place can bury."

I think itโ€™s fine to bully people for reading Harry Potter in 2025 actually

If you want to read your old Harry Potter books, you should do it in secret and shamefully - you know, in the way that J.K. Rowling wants to force trans people to live.

We need to fight discrimination and exclusion.
We also need to build autonomous spaces where we can care for each other when no one else will.

'Biological sex' is an incoherent concept. The Supreme Court judgement clearly gives it priority over the express will of Parliament.

Is this not beyond the Court's power?

It was the clear intention of Parliament in 1999 that trans people be able to move through society on equal terms. It was the clear intention of Parliament in 2004 that people with a GRC be regarded as their acquired gender for all practical purposes. The GRA passed to align with an ECHR judgement
