It's bizarre how s11-12 MST costs a LOT more than old MST and somehow the host segments look even worse.

My guess is they treat Rifftrax as an audio commentary vs. MST that they treat as people talking in a theater, complete with keeping it brief lest someone tell you to shush (even though there's no one else in the theater).

It’s crazy too because so many people spend ridiculous amounts of money for Uber and Lyft. There are tons of buses in LA. If it’s not urgent and is within the service hours, I always take the bus.

Individualism, classism. There’s this idea that buses are for poor people. That’s why so many big tech innovations for transit are just “buses but gentrified” or “trains but gentrified.”

imagine working on a production for six months, having to invoice every two weeks, and then not being eligible for unemployment insurance because you were never technically an employee.

There are productions experimenting with that for entire departments.

This is a cautionary tale as the animation business gradually yet noticeably shifts from full-time employment to freelance/independent contractor models where the studios are no longer responsible for paying any benefits to the worker.

Would be cool if another animation studio started up and rented the space but it’s near impossible to start a new animation contract studio these days. 😢

Personally, I think Sweeney is too good for this. She has starred in shows like White Lotus and Euphoria. That’s prestige award winning television. Why is she modeling jeans?

To them white is simply the default “normal.” Anything less and there’s a problem.
