Shifting vital education programs across federal agencies weakens civil rights protections, undermines support for low-income and first-generation students, and threatens equal opportunity.

Closing the Education Dept. would harm the very students it exists to serve.

Report: Schools Must Prioritize Teacher Work-Life Balance | NEA A new survey finds educators face more job intrusion and job flexibility issues than other working adults. There are more than a few ways school districts can help address this imbalance.

Educators deserve balance. But a new @RAND.org report shows that most teachers struggle to find work-life balance, and too few school districts are taking steps to help. Smaller class sizes, more planning time, and supportive leadership make all the difference.

Today's reminder for #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek is respecting the ‼️Danger Zone⚠️ which is the school bus loading and unloading area where the bus driver can’t see the child and, therefore, the child is in the most danger. Together, let's keep our children safe! 🚍🚸 #SafetyFirst #SchoolBusSafetyWeek

We urge every driver: slow down, pay attention, avoid distractions, and STOP 🛑 when the bus 🚌 stops. It's unlawful to do otherwise and can face severe repercussions. Protecting our children is a shared responsibility.

Remember: When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, all traffic must stop—unless you're on the opposite side of a divided highway. Children may be crossing the roadway in front of or behind the bus, so please be extra cautious.
