Thanks for the tip. I’ll try alcohol and see if that works.
Most of the dead ones were magazine cover disks so they were probably low quality to start with. A few started working after wiping a hard drive magnet over the disk.
They were sold as untested so I didn’t expect them to all work.

Two more computers in need of restoration. An Atari 520STFM and a 1040STFM. Apparently the 520 works and the 1040 doesn’t. Both rattle and have cracks in the cases which isn’t a good start.
