this could be just a baked af train of thought but I'm mostly tired of being fed headlines about how "Warning! MGG's role in Criminal Minds: Evolution is more dreadful than exciting!" and it just means like... he's gonna be a cameo, and probably not a regular role. that's not what dreadful means.

If you consider me a friend and don't know what I'm up to or how i am, it's because you aren't bothering to actually ask and find out.

Realizing that people in my life don't ask me these things is extremely eye-opening. I openly share with the people who do ask me about myself from time to time. But those that don't bother aren't entitled to that information anymore.

You don't know things about people unless you ask. I want people in my life whom i am genuinely interested in and are genuinely interested in me in return, and will bother to ask me, "What have you been up to? How are you? What are you doing?"

I've reconnected with friends recently that make me feel seen and heard, just in asking me about myself in ways no one has in a long, long time. I've offered myself up so freely that it's taken until now to realize that if I don't share, people don't care to find out.

I want to open my eyes in the morning and feel something other than dread. I want to close my eyes at night and feel something other than despair.

Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved.
