i knew id seen those bells from somewhere before.

apparently a Bulgarian thing. the dancers are called the Kukeri(singular:Kuker)

they ward off bad spirits. but also apparently dance for better harvest. which would kinda fit one of nurgle's idea of propagating life through decay.

I somehow always manage to forget what a huge shot in the arm it can be to just talk with someone else who's got a similar, enthusiastic mindset about toy soldiers for a half hour or so. Coming away from a wee chat like, "Yeah, I'm gonna go paint something!"

The new Space Wolves merch is actually quite tasteful? Only people in the know would realise that it’s 40K merch and there’s no symbols on it that could get you mistaken for a Nazi.

Continuing to clear out my backlog and you know what, Chaos deserves some colour. Finished tidying up the other undead warbands I've got, but also decided to blitz through this Gnarlspirit Slaves to Darkness band for Underworlds and decided they needed to be really bright. #nerdlings #warhammer

A Death Korps of Krieg soldier comforts a dying Sister of Battle.

So it didn't take home the top prize (but Silver!), but this piece is one of the best composed 40K dioramas I've ever seen. Searingly intimate, while also allowing your brain to fill in the larger battlefield. I'm in awe, and cannot get over it.

Warhammer Underworlds sculpts are just so fun.
I always want to paint more because it’s like a little bit of AoS tapas, where you get the flavours of a faction without getting bored.
If anyone wanted a warband painted by me I’d absolutely be up for a commission on this scale any time :)
