My fellow comic writers and novel authors, what percentage of your work time do you spend writing/editing, and what percentage is hustling new work and promoting existing work? Let’s call this the creating:marketing ratio. I think mine might be off.

Yes! When you first open a new project, do NOT use a template. Choose “Blank.” This eliminates a ton of those overwhelming formatting options.
And while I don’t enjoy learning via videos, the Scrivener folks know it can be overwhelming & have put up a bunch of helpful stuff.

Only Scrivener, since about 2012. I use it for everything: fiction, comics, screenplays, audio dramas.
I’ve heard from a number of writers who get overwhelmed by the bells and whistles, but I don’t use most of those. I prob use 40% of the features and that’s exactly what I need.

Well, she tried to joke it away for a bit, but I knew she had to pee (and I didn’t) so I stood my ground. She eventually landed on the fact that she’s always punctual with her scripts; never misses a deadline.
