Was feeling a little grumpy about teaching summer school with all of my other work. These kiddos changed my mind before we even left breakfast the first day. Kids have more trauma than ever, and yet... this generation offers a grizzled veteran teacher hope.

As I head towards K-12 retirement, I have been doing a lot of reflection. I had family-teacher conferences this week and one conclusion really sticks. Gen Z/Alpha may be hopelessly addicted to screens, but they have big picture social concerns zeroed in. There's hope for the future in that.
