2 Glossy Ibis left Ripple Pits this morning at 7.25 heading north west, also Red-crested Pochard, Great Egret and Common Sandpiper. Eclipse male Ring-necked Duck still at Clifton on main pit. #worcsbirding

Clifton Pits WeBS count late morning and early afternoon. 253 Cormorant is a significant count, 11 Little Egret, 1 Shelduck, 28 GG, 7 LG, T.31, SV 12, TU 55, WN 41, Snipe, Kingfisher, Peregrine and 3 Yellowhammer.

Obliging Wheatear at Clifton Pits this afternoon, also Great Egret, 6 Little Egret and 195 Cormorant.

Long-tailed Duck still on Clifton north pit this morning, also a late Redstart on the west side of main pit. Sadly found the Marsh Harrier dead on Ashmoor Common, a Whinchat there loosely associating with a couple of Stonechat was more positive.

Great patch record Dan, reward for number of visits and hours you put in there. Thanks for the message, shame that it head back to Grimley 5 minutes before I got there. Good to catch up with you.

Curlew Sandpiper still present this morning at Ripple Pits, south pit, east shore. Also Ringed Plover through, Green Sandpiper, 2+ Common Sandpiper and Hobby.

Pleased with my 1st Clifton WeBS count this morning. 18 Black Tern’s and a fly through Spotted Redshank were the obvious highlights. Also singles of Pintail, Mandarin, Barnacle Goose & Common Gull and CG354, GJ232, EG37, MA278, GA10, SV20, T.11, TU82, ET2 & CO119.

85 species for Clifton Pits #WestMidsAllDayer highlights, Marsh Harrier, Hobby several, Peregrine, Pochard, Wigeon, Goosander, Common Tern parties of 9&8, LRP, Green & Common Sandpiper, Cetti’s, Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail & Spotted Flycatcher.

Good wader passage today at Sker Point & Kenfig NNR. Whimbrel, 3 Golden Plover, 50+ Sanderling, Sker rocks at high tide.Black-tailed Godwit, Little Stint & Wood Sandpiper on the east shore of pool, latter 2 flew north at 1.30. Also 2 Wheatear and 6+ Yellow Wagtail.

Good numbers of Yellow Wagtail on east side of main pit Clifton this morning 30+, gathering of the local population or passage? Also; Ringed Plover, Dunlin, 4 LRP, 3 Common Sand. and 1 each of Great & Little Egret.

Highlight of an early morning visit to Camp Lane Pits, Grimley this young Cuckoo begging for food. The surrogate parent Reed Warbler duly obliged. Also Whinchat female and Redstart male on north causeway; Peregrine, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kingfisher and 2 Egyptian Geese.

Super morning in the Wyre Forest, lots of Pied Flycatcher song 4 singing males, 2 Tree Pipit singing, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and Dipper on Dowles Brook. Unexpectedly also had a close encounter with an Otter, in the brook swimming upstream toward me

Half a dozen Sand Martin and 3 Little Ringed Plover the highlights at Clifton Pits this morning, also 5 Redshank and Ruddy Shelduck still present.

Snow Bunting still present at Longdon Marsh today, along with drake Ring-necked Duck. Also Ringed Plover, Marsh Harrier, 2 Great & 5 Little Egret, Peregrine, Red Kite and newly arrived and singing Chiffchaff’s & Blackcap

Decent late afternoon birding in south Worcestershire today; Clifton Pits, Yellow-legged Gull, Redshank, Sparrowhawk & Pintail; at Ryall Court Pits, a Curlew, Barn Owl, Jack Snipe 1+, Snipe 10+ and a pair of Egyptian Goose with 7 goslings (no wonder the numbers are increasing).

Cold and frosty at Clifton Pits this morning; bird highlights; 3 Oystercatcher, 2 Pintail, 10 Mandarin (on the river), 5 Goosander, Ruddy Shelduck still present and a Brambling overhead calling.

Great to see; Barn Owl, probably 2 at Ryall Court Pits 1st thing this morning and a Great Black-backed Gull loafing on the pit. Also 4 Shelduck, 68 Tufted Duck, 5 Pochard and a few Teal & Wigeon.

Corn Bunting and Brambling among the finches and buntings in the set aside immediately south of Main Pit Clifton, made this afternoons visit well worth while despite the mist and cold.

A good selection of birds at Ryall Court Pits, this afternoon; Merlin & Jack Snipe the highlights. Also; Red Kite,Great Egret, 6 Pochard, 6 Shoveler, 5 Gadwall, 9 Wigeon, 40+Tufted Duck, Shelduck, 20+Teal, 13 Little Grebe, 291 Canada Goose, 8 Snipe,10 Lapwing,3 Stonechat & Grey Wagtail. #WorcsBirds

No sign of Ring-necked Duck at Ryall Court Pits this afternoon and no Tufted Duck at all so worth checking any ducks on the flood water. Highlights; Jack Snipe, 20+ Snipe, Great Egret, Green Sand., 300+ Canada Goose, 5 Pochard, 2 Wigeon and 11 Teal.
