It’s like they forget the roots on con culture! Or they just don’t care idk which is worse.

Not all cons do this but I am seeing a trend in prices skyrocketing and nickel and dimeing for things like chairs.
And on top of that so many conventions prioritize exhibitors over artists and hide artists far away from everything else. It’s just not worth it to me 🤷‍♀️

It’s interesting to see the discourse around cons taking advantage of artists on artist alleys now because I genuinely had someone stop talking to me for criticizing cons and their behavior towards artists.

I’ve been helping event planners with their day of work! Eventually I’d love to do events full time but probably have to wait for baby to be school age.

Super grateful for gig work because I can work just long enough that I get sick of it until I want to get out of the house again and feel useful and make some extra money for cosplay materials 🙌

So we attempted to cut out eating out the entire month of September but of course the last day rolls around and we’re tired so we went out for lunch and I immediately got sick….

Okay update I found a baby Halloween costume pattern set that includes a mouse and a bear and we’re going to wing it 🤞🤞
Planning to make it a little big or at least not cut up the pattern so I can make him another for con season next year

@perchperchson.bsky.social came home from a cyclocross event with some incredible Malört swag, including this iconic bracelet that says “Tonight’s the night you fight your dad.” It’s beautiful to see a brand nail their specific lane so clearly, hiring shit posters to do marketing is brilliant.
