Carving out haiku on the Hiawatha The morning Hiawatha train resembles an office on wheels. Devices are connected. Phone calls are answered. The business day is on track. And Tom Ryan seeks a muse.

My cousin's husband commuted by train between Milwaukee and Chicago, and he wrote a haiku every day. archive.jsonline.com/entertainmen...

Super frustrating. Seems like all the mentorship programs (REUs, pre & postdoc training programs) are in limbo or being cut--both NSF-funded & university-supported ones. There are also programs through IES (Dept of Ed)--predoc & undergrad-focused training grants--that have been unreviewed since Feb.

so frustrating!! did they give you a reason for not being reviewed? program archived? did not meet formatting/content requirements?

Notre Dame has three *open-rank* faculty positions in the Institute for Educational Initiatives. These positions are part of a strategic initiative to build on our excellence in educational research and action--both within education and across associated disciplines. Details in thread.

Confession: When my kids were small, we subscribed to Highlights magazine. Should have cancelled when my youngest got to, say, 12 or 13? She's 17 now, & we haven't managed to cancel! It just auto-renews, & we somehow can't figure out/ find time to deal with cancelling it. We need an admin party!

It's clear from today's AP photos that Trump has entirely demolished the East Colonnade—added to the White House by Thomas Jefferson in 1805—and restored by Theodore Roosevelt in 1902.

The East Colonnade didn't occupy the footprint of the Trump "ballroom"—its demolition was completely unnecessary.
