I genuinely think doctors should prescribe printmaking for some people struggling with their mental health. It’s almost impossible to think of anything else when you are so absorbed in printmaking.

Yes, unavoidable, but it does become easier with practice. I would say just focus on the stage of the process you’re on. Try to enjoy the designing, the cutting, the inking and the pressing…..but just focus on what you are doing at the time! 😀

It's a reduction Chloe..... can't get my head around block prints!! 😀

While I wait to start my next print, this one popped up in my photos from a couple of years ago. Summer in the Highlands. 35x55cm. I loved mixing the colours for this. I’ve included two photos I used in creating this print.

Such an expressive print Matt.

A linocut print that shows a small promontory jutting into a loch. There are whitewashed cottages to the left with a suggestion of reflections in the clear water in the foreground. In the background are the hills and then a yellowing, early morning sky peeping above them. White clouds hover above the hills and the sky graduates from yellow to a soft blue.

In Scotland this is an absolute scandal. The coldest area of the UK where more energy is required and self-sufficient for electricity from renewables most of the time.......yet still charged inflated rates!!!

I’ve got to layer 3 on my current print today.

Caroline will be with us at Printmakers of Scotland in Aug, worth a visit!!
