Saw an episode of Caped Crusader where Bruce punched a reporter for pointing out that walking down a dark alley while openly wearing pearls wasn't a good idea.

The media's in on it. Gotham Gazette, Daily Planet, Daily Bugle, all of them. They pay informants for details on what rare items a museum is getting or a celeb is wearing and hype it up, specifically to alert super villains, knowing the robbery will make good press.

Watched an ep of the 2000's Gotham Girls and the news focused more on the jewel than the celeb.

You'd think it would be dumb to openly tell everyone, including costumed freaks, where expensive diamonds would be.

But it got me thinking, that's the point.

Am I missing something? I swear I've never seen the news mention a gathering of famous or wealthy people and give a detailed list of what jewelry they plan to wear. Am I just not watching the right news outlets? Does the FT report on this?

I ask cause it seems to happen in comics all the damn time

What they failed to do was explicitly say what activities promoted this, or which spammy behavior on the list prompted it.

Annoyed as shit, partly cause I get they're using some useless AI for moderation
