And on top of getting me interested in self hosting it, I also think more places should use this strategy!
Micro services are a people scaling solution and on anything other than a massive team I think micro services are to be avoided for as long as possible
Oh ya well thatโs a really good way to get me interested in running your service!
I really should get back into streaming, I always had a blast
You can tell I like API integrations because my current side project has two working API integrations and doesnโt actually do anything yet

In this "Saw Trap" (as I've taken to calling them), there is a wheel in front of you. Your challenge is to leave the room without reinventing it. It works fine. It's a perfectly good wheel. This would have been pre middle school, so thinking like 4th - 6th grade maybe? But Iโm not know for having a good memory of my childhood ๐คฃ
I might have to hide my personal computer today lol need a break but it keeps calling for me ๐คฃ
25.07.2025 14:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ya echoing this, but also depends on your audience I think
Like is the audience โDame knowersโ who want to use your new thing, Patreon is probably fine
But if your audience is just โanyoneโ then I agree it would feel weird to sign up for a Patreon as a way to subscribe
I come from web dev, the farthest from safety critical lol, so never seen one before
But it sounds really interesting, and I like the dev tool vision you talked about!
@jamesmunns.com just finished last weeks episode of @sdr-podcast.com and would be interested in reading/hearing more about your thoughts on the too be renamed traceability tool!

08.07.2025 17:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Will preach about respecting Pigeons till the day I die.
Pigeons are our own pocket sized city dinosaurs!!! We domesticated them to love us and then we abandoned and villainized them. Our little feathered friends deserve kindness.
Me and my wife always joked that we must have toxoplasmosis cause of how often we do this
But when we got tested during her pregnancy we both came back negative
Which means we are just crazy cat people and have no excuse at all
Ya battery life is still pretty ok, I havenโt had issues. But Iโm also not often far from a charger or portable battery so slightly hard to say
But ya canโt speak to the long term effects as much ๐คท guess weโll all find out in a couple months lol
Been using the best since it launched on my iPhone 16 Pro. Didnโt check the health pre-update but Iโm at 97% now.
Battery life is def worse on the beta, but thatโs pretty much always the case with the betas
Just if that helps you make a decision!
New TIL Post today!
Been almost a year since the last one apparently, need to write more.
TLDR: Use โcargo sqlx prepare --workspace --all -- --all-targetsโ to generate sqlx files for tests

Pro Plan To read more about Pro plan usage limits, see About Claude Pro usage. โข Pro ($20/month): Average users can send approximately 45 messages with Claude every 5 hours, OR send approximately 10-40 prompts with Claude Code every 5 hours. โข Model access: Pro plan subscribers can access Sonnet 4, but won't be able to use Opus 4 with Claude Code. โข Best for: Light work on small repositories (typically under 1,000 lines of code)
Pro doesnโt have access to Opus unfortunately

I also just learned about this, which Iโm excited to try out with rust-analyzer soon!

I think their IDE integration lets it read the diagnostic info in VS Code, which can/often comes from the LSP
But Iโm not sure it has access to the full LSP, Iโve only seen it pull the diagnostics

Every time I work on a project I find a reason to switch back to a different one to add โjust one more featureโ that will help me on my next project. Itโs a viscous cycle!
But if/when I finish these Iโll have a whole cinematic universe of small projects!
Sketches of a planter on graph paper. On top we see a top down view showing all 4 walls and their joiners. This helped me make sure the sides would all fit together On the bottom is a view of what a single side looked like. It was two cedar planks joined by a cedar strip to give the planter the height it needed
Built the planter from scratch and my first building project in a long time. Pretty proud of how it came out!
Had drawn up some plans and it all worked out pretty much as planned
A raised bed garden box filled with soil and with herbs planted. There are also a few yellow flowers to help keep the animals away
I built a garden planter yesterday which was cool!
But today Iโm suffering from all the mosquito bites I got from doing it l
But anyways here is the finished box with herbs planted!

Super valuable insights, gave me some great ideas of tangible things to try to improve remote learning.
And the bits about not being able to see frustrations first hand rang true to me as a โtoolsโ builder at work, so thanks again for sharing
Some days the train ride is for getting some personal projects done, and on other days itโs time to listen to some music and close my eyes
