This is incredible, just a year and a half after leaving Apple and launching their company with the cutest web site imaginable, the creators of Shortcuts are demoing an AI assistant that appears actually useful, and deeply integrated into your Mac.

A pro-Poilievre misinformation campaign from the U.S. has been uncovered.

The Financial Times is reporting that thousands of fake accounts from the U.S. are boosting Poilievre and attacking Carney.

#Canadians are being bombarded on X, Facebook, and TikTok with U.S. misinformation.

He threatened and continues to threaten invasion. Do you know how expensive a credible nuclear deterrent is going to be?

The 30 permanent and 20 seasonal employees of Great Basin National Park serve 150,000 visitors a year, an industry which generates more than $10 million in visitor spending and is responsible for two-thirds of White Pine County's sales tax revenue. "Negative productivity" indeed.

Boris Kagarlitsky is a leftist economist languishing in a Russian prison. He stood up, as a rare voice, against the Yeltsin-era privatisations that begat the current oligarchy. A prison cell was his reward. If on 19 April you are in Milwaukee, come to this event. Free Boris!

“Why isn’t there an app for that? That’d be easy!”

Usually this is an ignorant statement. But when @kejames.bsky.social made this comment in a thread and my gut and snarky instinct was to look up the API and explain why it’s not easy, I discovered that…it is easy. They had a fantastic idea!

The stock portfolios of more than two dozen members of Congress outperformed the market in 2024.

This isn't due to luck or skill.

Lawmakers can use privileged information to trade stocks while they’re supposed to be working for you.

Make no mistake, it’s legalized corruption.

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

Not in Alberta

I recently read an article about whooping cranes, Foster parent plan proposed for whoopers (JOURNAL, Aug 21) in which you said Fort Smith was located in Alberta.

Well I would like to tell you Fort Smith just happens to be in the NWT.

I know this because I was born there and it used to be the capital of the Northwest Territories.

"A whole new level of cruelty": Health experts decry "devastating" cuts to HIV treatment programs The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation said the latest cuts will deprive 350,000 people of HIV treatment.

“What’s transpired over the last three or four days just takes it to a whole new level of cruelty and inhumanity and, frankly, a whole new level of stupidity in doing this is the most non-strategic way.” Tens of thousands of people will die as a result of this action.
