Just finished making A Thing. From the Wild Oleander Hooded Scarf pattern on Ravelry (www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...), using Sirdar's Jewelspun yarn in the Quartz colorway. Soft & snuggly. 🧶

Pattern is "Bonfire Bucket Hat," available on Etsy from KrissyOTMCrochet, and I made mine from a bunch of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarns I found in my stash. I'd like to make another, maybe next time with some of that Mandala Impressions yarn.

Turned out bigger than I thought it would, being about 7.5" across at its widest point.

I went to Yarn Harbor in Duluth, where many treasures were found - like this skein of Berroco Ultra Alpaca (Tiger Eye Mix). All it took was one skein, & using my favorite Clover Amour hook, I had this hat - a sort of granny circle beret - done in a day. 🧶

I wanted the tie to have a distinctive appearance, so Tunisian crochet was the perfect choice. The sock yarn used is from Cascade Yarns, specifically Heritage Paints - a hand painted sock yarn colorway called "Thunder." It had been in my stash for years.

I made it from the medallion that was on the gear shift knob from the car I liked best to drive - a 1982 red Toyota Corona (I called it The Tomato). I really loved that manual transmission. Anyway. I had this originally made as a lapel pin (sterling silver backing), but I converted it to a tie pin for my grandson, to celebrate his growing skills as a driver.
