H.G. Wells published ten "rights of man" in Paris in 1940. They were taken from a German writing that may have been suppressed by the regime in Germany.

Five of ten "Rights" of man Published in Paris by H.G. Wells in 1940. Translated from a German article that was probably suppressed in Germany (my guess). In today's world I'd like to think that "man" was intended to mean "human being." Too bad we can't ask Wells.

Published April, 1940 in Magazine Digest: "A far greater threat to democracy than a 3rd term is the time-honored expedient of dragging red herrings across the trail to obscure the real issues of a political contest."

There's a whole lot riding on what was started in October, 1957 when the Russians put a tiny satellite in orbit. After that fateful day, it became clear that the survival of humans depended on cooperation, not so much on competition.

Friend Always Die, Hearts and Hidden Agendas, Governor Lydia (memoir), Road to Greyhaven, The Sword of Training, The Forgotten Garden, Queen of Lunaria, Water of Renewal, Twin Scepters, The Kamorian Gate, Acts of Betrayal, Acts of Courage, A Scholar's Son, Chaos in Lunaria, and others.

I would say that all the books have that element of courage to face a world that invariably seeks to punish a strong female character for doing the right thing, an experience that my writing partner and wife has often experienced.

I ought to tell you that I can see Mt. St. Helens walking around the neighborhood. That gives me a sort of personal relashonship. Mt. Hood to the east, and St. Helens to the north east. The best I can say about genre is like describing the Tall Short Fat Thin person which never fits any category.

This reminds me of Schrodinger's Cat which was initially meant to mock quantum theory.

In 1958, the Nashville I experienced wasn't the clean, beautiful city it is now. It could be unexpectedly violent, deeply corrupt, and ultimately dangerous to the unwary.

I think we only learn through a process of looking back into the near past and seeing what didn't work. Then we can feel free to propose a new solution and so on. The metaphor for all this is that we have to be wrong in order to be more right.
