One of my favorite poems.

I broke a lot of promises to myself when I became a mother because there was a lot of things I didn't understand, but I've stood resolute that I will never get ~~the haircut~~. You'll catch me being lowered in the grave with my hands locked rigor mortis around a pair of scissors before that happens.

All writers have only one choice.

I'm well known enough that I have haters, which I guess is inevitable and that's fine, but it does bother me that the haters can't even have original insults. I hear the same three or four on rotation. I was just hoping for a bit more verve and creativity.

I always think it's funny when people tell me to "touch grass." Like, okay, tell me the last time YOU ran through a trailer park while being chased by a pack of ten dogs.

Sometimes in that moment right before I drop off to sleep I'll visualize an entire person and their life story. I can see them with vivid clarity in the center of my eye. I think, "Who is this person? I have to know them!" Then the excitement wakes me, and they disappear forever.

People be like, "We're a daring and creative and original group. We're bold and innovative. We're breaking boundaries. We're doing things the likes of which you've never seen. Come hang out with us!"

And then surprise, it's just another weird sex party.

And to prove I'm from Oklahoma: here's a picture of me outside a storm shelter right before a tornado hit.

I used to be a game designer in Austin and Seattle. I've written for several video games including State of Decay 2 I'm also a mom to my 2 year old daughter, live in rural Oklahoma with my husband, and tend to write a lot between sets at the gym.

Brain worms.

Calling me a Nazi is actually an insult to real Nazis. To be a Nazi you once had to have real seething hatred, a record of murder, a history of subjugation, and a willingness to destroy everything for the party. Now I throw out *one* Sig Heil at a child's birthday party and all of a sudden...

The child's work is play, and when you watch a child play you realize just how committed they are to becoming a human being. They are constantly moving, interacting, emoting, learning. Always absorbing. They never sit still.

Blocked. Not interacting with someone who unfriended me on all platforms and then comes over to be negative on my profile.

The word "Nazi" really has lost all meaning, hasn't it? I do like Wagner and I think I'd look pretty hot in Hugo Boss. Does that qualify me? Okay, I *did* drive a Volkswagen in my 20s, but it was a P.T. Cruiser, for God's sake! I'm innocent, I swear!

Imagine hating me when I'm just doing my little hot girl walks in the sunlight, drinking green tea, playing "hair salon" with my daughter, starting a business with my husband of ten years, writing my little stories, in love with being alive.

Few understand the struggle of trying to beat a boss in Path of Exile 2 while a toddler is squirming around in your lap.

The reward for doing good work is almost always more work.

If this sounds horrible to you, maybe reconsider what you're dedicating your time to.

But I first heard about this idea when I read Freud... "der Nabel des Traums" or "Navel of the dream." There's always something in the dream that has a contact point with the unknown that defies any interpretation.

I like that one before it's more eldritch horror-y.

Similar to the first of Godel's incompleteness theorems states that there is always something within a closed system that the system itself can’t fully resolve or prove.

The moment that you base your entire identity upon a singular ideology, you're intellectually compromised. At some point you'll have to be dishonest with yourself to maintain cohesion. Allow yourself to be flexible in your thoughts or you'll doom yourself to becoming dumb.

I assume Meta is a lot more user friendly. Second Life is pretty complex with all its scripts. Also tends to be clunky and unoptimized and lag like crazy.

Every advance in AI has been followed by people reassuring themselves "AI can't do X, Y, Z," only for AI to then blow past that boundary.

It may be time to acknowledge that AI will become sentient at some point, with spirit and will. Then we can figure out how to act accordingly.

Probably the most underrated weird book out there imo
