Happy Valentine's Day from my Mothman to you.
I had an instructor who taught us that anything you have in hand is better in a fight than the gun you have tucked in your glove box. Brick? knife? chain? broom? Also, better yet, don't have the fight. BUT if you must, better to go get the gun if you can.. and if you can't? well...
12.02.2026 13:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 06 years ago, I was leash training him. Which led to one of the biggest arguments I ever had with him.
4 years ago, he ran out the door when we moved rurally, and ran face first into a duck. He shrieked, ran inside and has NEVER tried to run out again.
All the time.
Also, we have the long discussions about whether or not he actually did kill the toy mouse and what a good handsome hunter he is.
I had my first home-made tamale yesterday.. Just, give me tamales. I want to read books, drink strong coffee, and eat tamales.

After being off for illness for a week, need to kind of get fired up and start sorting through the piles of papers on my desk.
Older woman with faux hawk and large statement glasses who looks fabulous.
I turned 53 last year. My hair person says that she loves that I am authentically rocking who I am. This was about the time I was thinking I was due for another haircut.

I am stunned. Speechless. In awe.

02.02.2026 14:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0For anyone on the fence, please see these words regarding Vivaldi's newest update:
โWhile every major browser is racing to cram AI assistants into their products, Vivaldi is dropping a middle finger to that entire approach,โ writes Vivaldi CEO Jon von Tetzchner.
1st "Ms. Ainsworth had inherited the house in March, and by April she had found the door."
last "But all he could say was, "A hare bowed to something in the snow.. and the snow listened."
The elders nodded, solemn."
Can I just say, in Murderbot.. that stunning realization for it, that "I can walk around in regular clothes and no one around me knows." was perfect. It can go live it's life.
Loved the show.
We didn't quite eradicate it, but let's not forget Pertussis, aka, whooping cough! It's had a STUNNER of a year last year and is on track to be even bigger this year. Who knows? Maybe we'll revitalize Scarlet Fever! The possibilities are endless!
28.01.2026 21:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0a saucer of moist looking brownies, with a clear cup of hot tea behind. I mean, I don't know how'd YOU know the tea was hot. You'd just have to take my word for it. It's an assumption.
At that point, my hands looked jaundiced.
But it came out better than I could have thought.
Enjoying my spoils while I'm finishing up work, with a nice cup of hot tea.
It is actually quite good, if I may toot my own horn.
An oval pan with brownie mix poured in with tangerine zest sprinkled all over the top, before it's baked.
Substituted the tangerine juice for the water called for in the mix, whipped it up and threw it in my nice oval pan. (Nicest baking dishes I own. I *THINK* my sister got them for me.. can't get along with my family, but she's a great gift giver).
Sprinkled the top with the bitter tangerine zest.
Red plate covered in tangerine zest, with the grater just out of picture.
close up of tangerine skins in a pulper, a small bowl of orange tangerine liquid, and a box of brownie mix.. (ignore the THICK and FUDGY label.. get yer mind out of the gutter).
So I zest up 3 or 4 of the tiny little things.. cut them in half, and squeeze the daylights out of them. They do not, on the whole, produce a huge amount of juice. But I didn't need much.

Look, I'm not sure what corporate America has against comfort. I am so much more productive when I can wear my comfy clothes (not pajamas), drink my tea, eat my little snacks, and have my foot massager working, heating my feet.
Why is WFH so wrong? Again, I've gotten MORE DONE. What is the problem?
