WES being able to serve Wilsonville alone should account for a significant amount of ridership, and yet I bet it fails for the same reason: suburban sprawl -> poor service

Maybe I'm interpreting the map wrong, but is it normal for public transport to be designed around workplace density rather than housing density? Would more people consider public transport if it was right outside their door, rather than where they needed to go?

I think WES in particular struggles because SW PDX is so suburbanized that additional bus connections are needed from WES stops to get to workplaces, and my (uneducated) guess is that people prefer their car once more than 2 connections are needed, especially when site parking was built-in

Sorry if this has been hashed out previously, but is there a reason the hwy caps can't be implemented without widening I5? Is it actual engineering problems from the caps or just politics?
