A Cubic Millimeter of Mouse Brain
This was a funny experience, my first 'hit' on YouTube where I experienced a whole spectrum of human opinions.
The three most common comments were:
- Whoever made this music is an idiot
- Whoever made this music is a genius
- Can it play Doom?

Also, am interested to see if it can translate an entire repository of code, say from R to Python. I've done this function-by-function with chatGPT before, verifying output matched either exactly or directionally. Since it's agentic, I bet it would streamline the whole process.

Fair, but it was more a test of how reliably it extracts reported values from research papers (something elicit is good at) and summarizes + packages it in a machine readable format (3.5 onwards very good at). Most curious to see how it would rationalize its choices for the missing values casebycase

Format results in a csv with columns for cell_type and each of the extracted/estimated parameters. Include column flags to indicate if data exctracted or estimated. If extracted provide reference, if estimated provide rationale/method. Format table in units directly compatible with brian2 model.

Let's take it up a notch:
"For every neuron type I want to know it's physiology / firing parameters, including where possible: membrane constant, resting potential, reset potential, refractory period, resistance, capacitance. Do this for as many neuron types as possible. Infer when data unavailable.

Not just the theaters but the space they occupy in culture: Sagan, Tyson, Cosmos ... who comes to mind? The theaters are a downstream effect of a difference between the scientific cultures. Q: What events/ influences(obvious or not) account for the different cultural trajectories between the fields?

Why does one field build $50m theaters and the other sends grad students to elementary schools with a bucket of cow brains?

1. Both. While technological milestones matter, detailed focus should be on cultural shifts to help explain why outreach is a central pillar of astrosci culture
2. Alongside. Interested in nonobvious or subtle causes. Err on the side of TMI.
3. Global.
4. Both.

I was doing some research for a lecture I'm putting together and TIL that these may be the first ever drawings of #neurons by Otto Deiters published posthumously c1865.
Anyone know of drawings that pre-date these?
