I added a Fenrir, but did so with the expectation that I'd want to cut it for that reason at some point.

I don't have a solid reason to curate two Peasant cubes currently, but I think that's a fun choice if you feel strongly that some are above/below a line you want to draw.

Vivi and Vedalken look to me like the other strong things to do with no prior experience drafting this cube. Are any of them worth snagging? Or because they're not necessarily game breaking is it better to just soak up more Lotuses early on?

Got out to play some hextended.com yesterday with the locals. Took UW Rebels out for a 2-1, losing to Flash Dreadnought in the last round.

I probably should have sucked it up and played a pair of forces in the board. It just felt tough to make the blue density work.

I should have played the Triplicate main over the Draco in the second deck. The slot was basically dead anyways because I was short on on-color playables, Trip at least would give me a better reanimation target.

77 cards + 5 basics before the EOE prerelease is just annoying.

Normalizing split card formatting is apparently just a futile effort.

INW CubeFest 2025 this past weekend was a blazing success. ~50 folks, infinite fun, one 7-pod of 100 Ornithopters whose drafters asked me to hop in as head judge to round out the pod, and which I 3-0’d with some chagrin… can’t wait to do it again next year.

Trying out these four from Edge of Eternities in the Peasant Cube. Allowing a few more Landfall effects in now that I have Landscapes and want to see if Timeline Culler can do anything interesting.

I still love an Act of Aggression. I seem to recall it being more common years ago, seems like all threaten effects have fallen off.

I'm just going to build a cube that works for my local groups; if that happens to be what a wider audience wants at these events then great, if not then so be it.
Marketing is not a strength of mine so while I'll do some basic write-ups I'm not going to change the substance of a cube.

My learnings from the CubeCon voting process is that if you have a Peasant Cube it'll do better if you don't use the words "peasant," "common," or "uncommon" anywhere in your title or description.

I'll default to the Tezz from this pack without having looked at the list.

I think if you're willing to randomize seating you're probably also willing to do diagonal pairing, so these seem perfect for the intended usecase.

There's a Minsc & Boo hiding in the glare that I was splashing green for already, just going up to a second card was fine.

Absolutely, just wasn't sure I had the mana to support it initially. Jitte wound up being pretty underwhelming though since my opponents weren't playing anything that it really worked against.

Powered #MTGCube night with the some of my "haven't played in years" buds.
Drafted a mediocre WR pile that couldn't make a curve work.

Glared out cards are Spellbinder, Fire Covenant, and Hovership.
Wound up moving the Ursine main over the Jitte.

Also did a Sealed deck from the Kuleshov Cube.

Back in town means back to #MTGCube.
Slow night, so here's a Housman of my Peasant Cube after an overhaul.

I wound up GB, which ended up less sacrifice-based than I was planning. Probably could have leaned into reanimation more during the draft.

WR Tokens took down the night.

I would assume they kept running into issues where fetches making something too good came up and just decided to eliminate the problem by using nonland.
