A few rounds of storms tomorrow. Both commutes will be affected along with outdoor plans. Poor drainage flooding and strong storms are possible, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out #CTwx #Connecticut

Welcomed rain this week could also re-energize some of the waterfalls, at least temporarily. Might make for some good foliage pics in areas that are turning!

Great write up! Really interesting set up. As for western CT into the Berkshires, an onshore wind component will also aid in some orographic enhancement. That makes the 2-4” totals even more possible, perhaps even likely reaching at least the low end of the scale

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY SATURDAY! Parts of CT are already in a level 2 risk for severe weather. Strong wind gusts and hail will be possible under the strongest cells, while any storm will produce downpours and lightning

More snow early tomorrow followed up by a gray, chilly, raw day. Not ideal if you wanted to hang out outdoors. Sunday looks a little better!

Means the opposite lol. For what it’s worth, our average high does climb well into the 60s by the end of the month. So this will not last forever and “below average” could still be milder than now. But a chance at 70 seems unlikely for at least 10 days, if not longer

My completely selfish viewpoint? I’ll be in PA so I’m good. But someone in New England is going to have a bad time lol

Even higher stakes because of that! I’m traveling Saturday morning and was so hoping to catch a glimpse when I step out in the morning

Yes. Always hesitant to jump on a milder solution this time of year, but the trends (and GFS cave) can’t be ignored either! Seems like there’s little room for error in CT, either warm and beautiful or chilly and gray

The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G2 magnetic storm watch for tomorrow! There's a chance we might be able to see the Northern Lights locally, weather permitting. Long exposure photography would be the best bet tomorrow night #ctwx #aurora

Another messy weekend… First Alert Weather Days both Saturday and Sunday as snow gives way to an icy mix. Cold & wind will bring wind chill values near zero at times early next week

Snow is back this weekend. Up to 10” possible in parts of CT away from the Sound. We first alerted you to this earlier in the week — stick with us as the storm moves through

To clarify, we will end January the same as how we began. New Year’s Eve forecast is still about 320 days out!

We began 2025 and January with a round of rain and we will end it the same. Still, January will end up being much drier than average

It's not often that a METAR observation records thundersnow -- it's even less often that this happens *twice*!
