I have always felt this to be true but the idea of there being research behind it is super cool.

Growing up on Canada's west coast, our public school French programs are not the best. I heard a statistic when I was a kid that more % of Americans speak Spanish than Canadians speak French, despite us having 2 officials languages. It just felt important.

People learn languages for so many reasons: travel, personal growth, reconnecting with their heritage, because of a loved one, or simply because languages feel magical.

Whatever your reason is, it's valid.
So we're curious… what inspired your language journey? #langtwt

We are all about the joys of learning, and trying to make that as accessible as possible. We want everyone from ages 3-103 to know the pleasure one can find in perseverance.

Some of my top English pet peeves:
• "literally" for "figuratively"
• "home" for "hone"
• "less" for "fewer"

I've said before that max fluency in my additional language will be when I can understand a toddler. I'm adding "when I develop pet peeves in French" as an assessment tool. #LangSky
